Troy R. Nash is the Director of University Assessment and a Senior Lecturer of Biology at Mercer University. He helps provide university faculty with curricular and pedagogical development and guides activities related to institutional assessment and accreditation. He also teaches introductory biology for majors. Troy's research focuses on how collaborative classroom environments lessen student anxiety and increase their sense of belonging and persistence in STEM fields. His involvement with NIST began when he attended a regional summer institute in 2013. Since then, he has served as a facilitator, speaker, and organizer at several regional and mobile summer institutes. Troy is grateful to have the opportunity to continue to promote accessible and inclusive faculty development programming that is focused on student learning, success, and persistence.
